Getting a phone call that thrusts you into the reality of death was not what we expected.
No, we had been living life, thinking we have ‘forever’, and not giving much thought to eternity.
I mean, if we knew our friend was going to die tomorrow, would we reconcile our differences today?
If our parent was facing death, would that put all the everyday grumblings and complaints in a proper perspective?
Would we persist in our hell-bent ways if we knew we’d be facing Jesus, the Righteous Judge, tomorrow?
This is not one of those fire and brimstone things. This is just being smacked with reality in the midst of this life right here…the life we’re living that seems so real, yet is only a vapor, a blip on the screen of eternity.
Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. James 4:14
It is only the Holy Spirit who can draw us to God. It is only the work of Jesus who can give us access to the Throne Room of our Heavenly Father. But, I can be the messenger today on this little blog, and my job today is to point you to the Light of the world, the One who forgives your sins, the One who restores brokenness of all sorts, the One who is full of mercy and grace, the One who is the Creator and rightful Judge of His creation, the One who is the way, the truth, and the life forever more.
Love, Wendy
