I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

John 16: 33

Recently, my heart was full of anxiety.   The situation before me looked despairing.   In reality, it really wasn’t a big deal.  But I let my emotions take over and I began to wallow in my sin just  like a pig.

Yep, a fat, dirty pig stuck deep in the mud!

I didn’t even really want to get out of my sin.  Sadly, I think I relished that sin and my hurt.

Ever been there?

I would be surprised if any women hadn’t been there.  The truth is God made us with emotions.  But He gives us the truth through His Word that shows us how to deal with emotions and anxiety.

Isaiah tells us that Christ is the Prince of Peace in Isaiah 9:6.  He is peace!  When we are faced with a challenge or situation that seems daunting or unfair, we need to seek The Peacemaker first and seek Him constantly.

One way to fight this anxiety is to be reading the Bible daily.  Spend time seeking verses that remind you of these truths.  Memorize them.  Meditate on them.

And, be in prayer like you breathe — often and constant.  Ask others to pray for you.

Lastly, don’t let your emotions lead you into sin.  Preach truth to yourself of God’s perfect plan and His love for you.

Now, my earlier situation… the one that seemed so hopeless?  I repented, apologized to someone I had offended and thanked God for His peace and forgiveness.

Our situations may not change at all, but we can seek God’s peace as we practice trusting Him in all situations.

Love, Julie
