He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
Hebrews 1: 3

Sticky fingerprints covered my bathroom mirrors. As I walked in, it was clear to me that “someone” had been there recently.  I could clearly see the imprint of their hands and fingers all over. Instead of being irritated, I smiled.  Hey, at least they were brushing their teeth.   These imprints made me think of impressions I leave wherever I go. Am I leaving Godly impressions with others or sinful, selfish imprints?

Christ is the image of the invisible God through whom we see the Father.  This verse tells us that Christ is the imprint of God.  He is the exact impression, representative of God, holy and perfect.  Christ is God.  Although, we will never reflect Christ perfectly, we must strive to reflect Him to others and leave an imprint of Christ each day everywhere we go.

How is your reflection today?  Are you showing kindness to the unkind, showing love to the unlovely, striving to be a peacemaker when others desire to argue?  For me, this is even true in my own home.  Do I leave imprints of selfishness when my children need my attention by being irritated at their requests?  Do I show utter disgust when something “I” need to fix wasn’t my mess to start with?  How do I respond to others when faced with a change in my day or plan?

What impression are you leaving today?

Love, Julie
